Custom Mahogany Entry Gate
A sagging, mismatched side gate replaced with a hand-built mahogany entry gate sized to the opening.
The problem
The original gate had dropped out of square, dragged on the walkway, and no longer latched without being lifted. Patching the old frame would not have solved the underlying sag.
The challenge
The opening was out of square, so a stock panel would have shown a tapered gap along the latch side.
How we solved it
The frame was scribed to the actual opening and diagonally braced so the weight transfers to the hinge post instead of the latch corner.
